Avian influenza (bird flu): important information
With sincere apologies, and following MPI guidelines, we have made the difficult decision after careful consideration that we are unable to accept any wild birds into the clinic. Our practice is not set up to handle wildlife safely under the current guidance, and we need to look after our patients, our team, and the wider community.
If you find a sick, injured, or dead wild bird, please do not touch or move it. Report it to the MPI exotic pest and disease hotline on 0800 80 99 66, or online at report.mpi.govt.nz.
You are welcome to call us for advice, and we will point you in the right direction.

Can a vet come to us?
Of course! Our vets are very mobile (we need to be for farm visits especially). If you need a vet at your place, just give us a call and we will arrange a time to get to you.
Can I visit the clinic for advice?
Please do. Our staff will do their best to answer any questions, if you’re looking for specific products or wanting health advice. If a nurse is available, they may also be able to chat.
Will you contact me if my pet needs a health check or vaccinations?
If you’re a patient of the clinic, and would like to be added to our reminder system, we can get in touch with a helpful reminder.
Can I make an appointment online?
Not at this stage, please contact us at the clinic so we can make the best appointment for you.
Who should I contact if I've found a stray or wild cat?
If you have found a cat or are concerned about their welfare, please contact the SPCA in the first instance.
